切り絵作家MiHo

弥生時代の日本女性をイメージして作りました。 この時代の自分の意志だけではどうにもならない世の中にいても、それでも、自分という芯をもち、強く生きていく。 　花のように儚い一生のように、美しく生きる女性を切り絵で作ってみました。 　黒い紙を切り出し、その裏に一枚一枚折り紙や千代紙、和紙などを貼って色を出しています。 　原画は写真より鮮やかな色です。 I created this piece with the image of a Japanese woman from the Yayoi period in mind. Even in an era where one’s own will alone was often powerless against the world, she maintains a strong inner core and lives life with resilience. I used the art of paper cutting to depict a woman living beautifully—much like a flower with a fleeting, delicate life. I cut the design from black paper and applied various types of paper—such as origami paper, *chiyogami* (patterned paper), and *washi* (traditional Japanese paper)—to the back of each section to add color. The colors in the original artwork are more vivid than they appear in the photograph.
